Okay, so I’ve been slacking on the blogging. And I still have the intention of making this a regular activity, so today I have the prefect excuse to start again. Today is Will and I’s first wedding anniversary. We always say Lorelei is the best decision we never made, but being married has proved to be the best decision we ever consciously made.
Now I have to warn you, I’ve had a beer, which is still all it takes for me to get slightly tipsy and sentimental since having the baby. So things might get gushy here..
Yesterday, looking through wedding photos (a wedding we put together in under a month and a half) Will and I both agreed we threw one hell of a party, but we couldn’t have done it without the help of our families and friends. Thank you for everyone that was able to be there and all the support received throughout the year.
Bust most importantly I want to thank my husband, Will. When I met you my entire perspective of what I thought I wanted for myself changed. Thank you for showing me that love is real. And that it’s the only thing that really matters. You are an amazing husband and an incredible father. You’re my forever man.
Today wasn’t a grand event like the day of our wedding. In fact, today was like any other Sunday, which we prefer. Because even though having a party or going out to dinner or exchanging gifts would have been nice (we like all of those things, we like them a lot!), in our little world our everyday ordinary is extraordinary. Yes, some days can be challenging and that’s expected. That’s life. Even so, everyday we kiss, we dance in the kitchen, we say, “I love you”, we laugh, and we laugh a lot. We can only be so lucky to have accumulated such “ordinary” days over this past year. We get by all right.
You be good to me
I’ll be good to you
We’ll be together
We’ll see each other
Walk away with victory
